Access to basic needs, particularly water and sanitation, remains a key challenge in many African countries. WASH is essentially about access to clean water, basic toilets and good hygiene practices, all of which are essential to human development. Inadequate access to water and sanitation services has enormous health, economic and social consequences. Significant underinvestment in WASH, particularly in sanitation, is concerning because it sends a message that countries are focusing more on the curative side of health and less on the preventative side of health.
CABRI provides a platform for government officials in Finance and WASH-related ministries across Africa to deliberate on the WASH policy challenge and find innovative solutions on how to plan, finance and deliver good quality WASH services to its citizens.
