The CABRI Conference (formerly known as the CABRI Annual Seminar) brings together senior officials from finance and planning ministries, and provides a platform for both learning and knowledge exchange. It serves as an opportunity for all CABRI members and participating African countries to share in the network’s learning activities, and engage on the experiences of their peers in addressing common issues in budgeting and expenditure management. In addition, the conference also provides an occasion for CABRI to disseminate its work to a broader audience, and gauge the needs of members in order to inform future work. Previous meetings have covered, among others, developing realistic budgets; bridging the gap between policies and budgeting; embedding medium-term perspectives in budgeting; programme and performance-based budgeting approaches; and ensuring value for money in public spending.
