In a recent speech, Mo Ibrahim mentioned that ”agriculture should be the backbone of Africa”. Food security is a major issue worldwide: a billion people around the world face severe poverty and hunger and two billion are malnourished. In Sub-Saharan Africa, 80% of the population rely on agriculture for their livelihoods and they do so with low levels of agricultural productivity.
CABRI is looking forward to the CABRI Dialogue on Value for Money in Agriculture Spending, which will take place in Senegal from 29-30 July. The dialogue will lead to recommendations on how to plan, finance and manage public spending in the sector more efficiently.
