The pandemic came with its own financial burdens, as many governments scrambled for the funds to support their people and finance the vaccine rollouts. African governments, especially, found themselves in a precarious position created by preexisting fiscal constraints and highly dynamic vaccine markets. However, they have been able to fund their COVID-19 vaccination campaigns through external and domestic channels.
