Voluntary tax compliance is the readiness of an individual and other entities to abide by the tax laws without the application of any enforcement. On 12 February, we kicked off an 8-day digital workshop on voluntary tax compliance as part of the International Capability Building Programme on Voluntary Tax Compliance with the Swedish Tax Agency - STA.

Over the next two weeks, country-teams will have the opportunity to hone their skills and strengthen their capabilities that will allow them to address problems that hinder voluntary compliance and progress towards the resolution of at least one significant problem.

The ICBP, now in its 4th year, consists of four rounds. The country-teams are comprised of officials from tax agencies and Ministries of Finance and each country-team is assigned a coach from the Swedish Tax Agency throughout the duration of the course.

The ICBP is hosted by the Swedish Tax Agency in collaboration with CABRI and is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
