We spoke to Dr Bob Muchabaiwa, Social Policy Specialist (Public Finance), UNICEF-Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO) after the conclusion of the Building Public Finance Capabilities for Improved Services for Children (BPFCC) programme last November.
Dr Muchabaiwa does a postmortem of the programme and shares how it achieved one of its main objectives which was to bridge divides between finance and line ministries.
CABRI and UNICEF launched the 12-month BPFCC programme in November 2022 with a focus on tackling public finance problems in key social sectors that particularly affect children, such as education, nutrition, health, and social protection.
