Danielle Serebro, Acting Programme Manager at CABRI joined the Global Initiative for Fiscal Transparency (GIFT) for their online course on Advancing fiscal transparency for development. Her presentation for Module 4 of the course, focused on internal systems and digital tools for better implementation.

This course was launched on January 26 with the support of the U.S. Department of State and runs until March 4 with participants from Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, Lebanon, Madagascar, Mauritania, Niger and Cambodia.

The objective of this online course is to introduce participants to a range of issues, tools, and practical examples that establish how fiscal transparency is a critical part of good governance, including how key actors engage and interact in a fiscal ecosystem and use fiscal transparency to actively contribute to, participate, and address challenges in fiscal policy and sustainable development.

Two editions of the English version of the course were piloted in the second half of 2021. The first batch of participants joined from Angola, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Egypt, Sudan and Uzbekistan from September to October 2021. Afterwards, representatives from Ethiopia, Liberia, Papua New Guinea, South Sudan, The Gambia and Zimbabwe took the course from November to December 2021.
