We were in Cape Town, South Africa, from 6-8 March for the 2023 Building Public Finance Capabilities (BPFC) programme Progress Review Workshop (PRW). 

As goes the tradition, three awards are allocated to country-teams at the end of the PRW. The winners are:

Best presentation - Team Lesotho
Best understanding of the problem - Team Benin
Most context appropriate idea - Team Guinea

A new prize - A recognition prize was awarded to team Nigeria.

But there was more to this workshop! We had the honor to have a special message from Professor Matt Andrews, the Grand Doyen of the Problem Driven Iterative Adaptation (PDIA) approach, from the Building State Capability programme at Harvard’s Kennedy School who in between two flights congratulated the delegates via a video message. We also had the honour to be joined by Alfred Okoh, BPFC alumnus and Advisor to the Director General of the Budget Office in Nigeria with us for a dynamic fire-side chat.
