As part of the 2024 Building Public Finance Capabilities (BPFC) programme, Signe Jung, one of the programme coaches is in Côte d'Ivoire with senior finance ministry officials to track progress and offer technical support on their public finance problem.

To solve Côte d'Ivoire’s problem statement: “Weakness of revenues compared to the elevated debt service costs, constraining much needed fiscal space towards funding investments” the team is applying the Problem Driven Iterative Adaptation (PDIA) approach.

While the team has deepened their understanding of the problem by gathering more data and evidence and importantly, wide stakeholder views on the problem and its causes, today’s coach visit is to facilitate reflections on the emergence of new learnings that may hold bearing in how the problem should be tackled.
