The peer leaning and exchange event convened officials from across the African continent to share their experience and future plans on, The Integration of Climate Change into Budgeting and Finance. Given the threat climate change poses for sustainable economic and social development, governments in Africa will have to continue to find innovative methods to integrate climate and gender into public financial management systems.
This was the first in a series of four peer learning and exchange events that will take place over the coming year as part of the Inclusive Budgeting and Financing for Climate Change in Africa (IBFCCA) programme. IBFCCA aims to strengthen linkages between climate change policy, gender and the budget process through a combination of peer learning and exchange, research, technical assistance and capacity building.
