The Policy dialogue on efficiency in health spending was organised by CABRI in close collaboration with The Global Fund and PRICELESS SA. The policy dialogue brought together finance and health policy officials from 10 African countries for in-depth peer learning on the drivers and causes of inefficiencies in health spending. While focusing on efficiency spending and impact in the health sector, the programme looked at strengthening the linkages between the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Health, and in particular identifying the entry points in the budget cycle for efficiency analysis.
The dialogue was interactive and designed for countries to share experiences and unpack the causes of inefficiencies and speak to what can be done to improve these challenges.
