The JCCS provided participating CABRI members with an opportunity to investigate and document the experiences, successes and reform lessons from a country’s budgeting system. It provided the reviewed country with recommendations on ways that budget systems could be improved. The JCCS in Mali strongly aligned with the PFM directives of the West African Economic and Monetary Union, and included peer reviewers from Madagascar, Burkina Faso, Mauritania and Cote d’Ivoire.
