How can budgeting and finance for climate change adaptation at country level be inclusive and gender responsive?
Integrating gender into climate responsive budgeting is increasingly recognised for its ability to ensure the more effective, efficient and equitable use of public financial resources. Governments and civil society organisations from Africa, Asia and Latin America have been working to support a more inclusive approach to climate budgeting. Gender responsive climate budgeting initiatives span the entire budget cycle (formulation, approval, oversight and policy review). The session brought together different perspectives from the global South on how inclusive gender responsive climate budgeting can be implemented for sustainable and inclusive development.
Countries presented and shared lessons from respective gender and climate change reforms.
